Jane Austen Follow On

How could I have missed this book before?

A long lost journal belonging to Jane Austen turns up in the basement of an old house. Remarkable in itself, but even more remarkable when, on reading, we discover that Jane has solved a particularly nasty murder in Hertfordshire.

Stephanie Barron has done a wonderful job with this novel and I’m quite sure that if Jane could read this book she would enjoy a good laugh. She would be flattered too, by Barron’s faithful mimicry of the Austen literary style.

Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor

Unpleasantness is too fine a word for two murders, suicide, wronged women, dashing rakes, handsome gentlemen and a harrowing scene where Jane almost loses her own life!
