Gifts for Science Fiction Fans

December 4, 2011 by Science-Fiction-Fan Leave a Comment

Have you got a Science Fiction fan on your gift list this year?

I know there are hundreds of thousands of Sci Fi fans, probably millions, and surely they have friends who scratch their heads when it comes to choosing a gift.

I’ve made up this list from my own preferences, the gifts I would like to get at Christmas – or at any time.

Gift Ideas for Science Fiction Fans

I’d really like some posters of old fantasy magazine cover art, I found a couple of beauties, and some vintage classic movies from the 1950s.

Books, I always want books. I found a couple of excellent calendars too.

Is there any Science behind popular Science Fiction shows?

While I enjoy watching episodes here and there of Star Trek, I’m no Trekkie. I watch because the characters are likable, I appreciate the gender equality and above all I like to laugh at the impossible contraptions used in the series.

As I scientist I recognize when scientific laws are broken but, however implausible and far-fetched the strange devices may be, many start me wondering Could this really work?

So I’ve included a couple of good books which discuss the possibility of television gadgets actually working.
