Farmers? Are You Serious?

A slow and careful four hour trip from the city in a hired removal van had brought us to this farm – this home – to work and learn about farming from our boss, and friend – for the next 18 months.

Peace and clean air embraced us…bird calls such sweet music to our exhausted ears. Our dream of farm-life was truly going to come true.

The last of the ten kangaroos they shot that night was a gentle grey doe, her soft stricken eyes staring in confusion and terror at the alien spotlight. The perfect target. After she had fallen, we could all see movement still continuing in her pouch.
